CASSOC held its first birthday celebration at the Tea Room Botanical Gardens on Tuesday 28th February 2023. What a beautiful and fitting venue for the afternoon!
Members were invited to a late afternoon soiree of drinks, hors d’oeuvres and birthday cake.
Barb Ashworth was the MC, President Colin Moore gave a welcome speech, which was followed by lots of conversation, a slideshow, and a briefing by the planning convenor, Alice Matthiesson.
Tributes were made to our Secretary Sally Kaptein, and to Events organizer Marli Wallace for their fantastic contributions to the formation of CASSOC. While they have stepped out of committee roles, they remain active members. Our media committee member Mark Koehne has also resigned from his position due to an entirely unforeseen event and he has our very best wishes and thanks. Sue Turner catered for our birthday with sensational sandwiches, fritatta and cake.
